I do love a good Margarita! My hubby and I love going to The Rio Grande in Fort Collins, CO for Rio Margs, which are a local favorite; although, they are gaining notoriety nationwide. Seriously, they are the best margaritas I’ve ever tried. Many try to copy their recipe, but few (and I mean, VERY few) succeed.
I DO NOT claim to have copied their recipe, but I have come up with an extremely comparable variation. After an extremely exhausting search, we think we have come up with the PERFECT margarita….something we’ve dubbed the NUCLEAR MARGARITA!

RECIPE
4 Parts Hornitos Tequila
2 Parts Island House Lime Juice
1 Part Cointreau
Ice and Margarita Salt
To make 2 servings, I used 1 cup of Hornitos Tequila, 1/2 cup Island House Lime Juice and 2 ounces Cointreau. Mix well and pour over ice into 2 glasses. Before filling, rim glasses with Margarita Salt, if desired.
These are seriously the best Margaritas I’ve had, outside of The Rio Grande restaurant. Serve with some good nachos or tacos or some other great Mexican food. You won’t be disappointed.
